I was always told by English teachers 'write what you know' and as I wanted to write about spaceships and wizards we entered an empasse. Probably because either I didn't understand or it was never really explained properly. Several of the Sly Ditt Inn cartoons so far have been based on true stories, and this week sees the start start of a run of four cartoons all of which are based on real events. They still fit on with the slightly eccentric feel of the stories and I'm quite pleased to at last follow the advice I was given far too many years ago.
